Set of three handmade ceramic candle light holders
These beautiful ceramic candle holders are handmade, by us and create a really special ambience.
When grouped, they emmanate a tranquil beauty and are easy to personlise and accessorise with fresh flowers. These ceramic candle holders would be a romantic and beautiful addition to wedding tables, surrounded by rose petals.
Originally I made one of these for Mark, who is a Buddhist and as such, the lotus flower is highly symbolic, bringing calm and tranquility with it. The final picture shows one at our home on top of our Tara side table.
Behind the making:
Although I try to make these ceramic candle holders as similar as possible, no templates are used because this would begin to give each product a mass produced look. I count the petals out but I cut them individually from the rolled out clay using a knife and artistic endeavour, which is where the handmade individuality shines through. After the bisque kiln firing, each lotus is then double dipped in a white tin glaze and fired again for a second time. The glaze also lends to the individuality of each piece. You only know how each piece will turn out like when you open the kiln door. Should you wish to know a little bit about the making of these ceramic candle holders, I have taken some pictures and explained a little about the process on our blog. Because no templates are used, it takes time to cut and shape each petal but all good things are worth waiting for.
Dimensions (approx): 12cm diameter (from point to point), 5cm height.
We have a batch of these ceramic canmdel holders fresh from the kiln and can get a set of three to you within the week complete with scented candle.
